Acoustic Soup Survey

As part of a university project, fellow students and I are developing a presentation to communicate food security and empower individuals to take
action.

To ensure the presentation is as effective as possible, we would greatly appreciate your participation in this quick 9-question survey

All feedback will remain entirely anonymous.

We look forward to sharing the presentation with you when it is finished in late May.

It would be terrific if you could also forward this to your networks.

Warm wishes and many thanks,
Charlie

New website and email for the Food Co-op

The Coop has simplified our websites.  Instead of a wiki and a blog, we have consolidated the sites into this central source of information, for example you can now access the Co-op rules from the navigation bar under the header image.

Our email has changed too, and from now on ”food.coop.shop@gmail.com” will replace “anu@foodco-op.com” as our email address.   We have set up a Google Group instead of the old mailing list, and you can opt in and decide how you want to receive messages from the Co-op at the Food Co-op Members home page.

The Co-op’s Twitter account and the Acoustic Soup Facebook page remain unchanged.  And you can still Join and like the Co-op’s Facebook page.

We are now back to full opening hours, and the shop is full of seasonal goodness!

A thank you from Karina of Acoustic Soup

Thank you MASSIVELY to all the people that came and played, drank, ate, sang, laughed, cried, helped on the door, stirred soup, picked up any of the million things i needed at the last minute, cleaned up and most of all those who came and supported the co-op by bringing your friends and your custom: you all made Acoustic Soup a wonderful success and a pleasure to run.

2011 will see me off on adventures, and a lovely new lady running the ship…. if you can come along and help cook, clean, maybe play some tunes and generally have fun, it will help to sustain the love that soup and music bring together…. and help to keep the co-op going strong.

Peace
Karina xox

All I want for Christmas is Acoustic Soup!

Hello all,

It’s that time of the month (and year!) again… for you to come and listen to lovely local tunes, relax in the co-op’s nice vibe and eat and drink some healthy deliciousness, and this time with a certain sense of season spirit.

Acoustic Soup is a fundraiser, and this will be the final night for 2010, so come and support the co-op in the best way possible. December will once again be one soup and one salad – the salad is intended to be a main dish, so don’t be upset if the soup runs out (though we will be trying to make as much as possible this month!!).

This month’s menu

Zucchini, kale and shallot soup

Beetroot, rice and lentil salad

Tabbouleh

There will be delicious raw and vegan goodies on offer to complement the sweet palate, some yummy chai, and maybe even some sort of refreshing cool drink to get in with the summer vibe. If you’re lucky, you might even find some homemade gingerbread.

All food and drinks are vegan, unless otherwise labeled.

Price:

Full price: $8.50

Members/students: $7

Entry only (no soup): $5

Time: 6:30 – 10:30pm

Date: Wednesday 8 December

Performers:

8pm Kristabell and the Southern Jubilee Ringers

After last month’s raging success, Kristabell and the crew are back again to rock your socks off in the very best way possible – southern style.

9pm Beth ‘n’ Ben

This fabulous acoustic duo are fast headed to stardom with their rootsy, folky tunes and insightful lyrics. Prepare to be serenaded.

CHRISTMAS HAMPER RAFFLE!!

As an extra special treat, and as the result of various generous donations, Acoustic Soup will be selling raffle tickets for a wonderful Christmas Hamper. The list of prizes is currently as follows:

1st Prize

Christmas Hamper, containing 2 person pass to Canberra Sustainable House tour, 1 pass to the next permaculture workshop held at the Environment Centre, membership to SEE-Change, some wine and some goodies.

2nd Prize

2 person pass to Canberra Sustainable House tour, some wine and some goodies.

And there will most likely be a 3rd Prize and some additions to the other two as well – full list of prizes will be on the door on the night. Tickets will be $3 each or 2 for $5, and the raffle will be drawn around 9pm.

Remember the co-op is at its new location – in the Childer’s Street carpark, next to the Street Theatre.

If you wish to perform, please email acousticsoupnight@gmail.com, or just rock up on the night – we can probably find you a spot.

Once again, help is always very welcome – you can earn stamps on your membership card, free soup and lots of love from us. People needed for preparation during the day and also on the night itself – send an email to us to volunteer your wonderful selves!

Love

Acoustic Soup Night Crew x
