The wonderful people at AYCC and co have conspired to people power the co-op so that we can pedal power regular film nights!

We are trying to raise money so that we can get our very own pedal power cinema set up! This way we can regularly show films about social justice, organic food and Bill Murray doing deep sea explorations, completely off grid!

Then stick around for this months installment of Acoustic Soup from 7pm!

Australian Atomic Confessions reveals the story of Australia’s nuclear legacy – the 12 British atomic bomb tests in Australia in the 1950s and 60s, the nuclear fallout that covered the country and ongoing threat to land and people. With eyewitness accounts from Australian servicemen who were involved and from Indigenous Elders who are custodians of the land where uranium is found who talk about its cultural significance.

The Food Co-op and Playback Theatre would like to invite you to a night of theatrical performances and steamy soup dishes. Playback theatre is a form of improvisational theatre in which audience members tell stories from their lives and then actors and musicians recreate these stories using movement, music and words. A delicious vegan meal will be provided.  This will be followed by an open discussion about vegan lifestyle.  There will be a panel of long-time and newer vegans of varying ages ready to answer your questions.

We will be sharing about what inspired us to become vegan, the good times, the difficulties along the way, how we manage socially, keeping healthy, the funny times and anything else that comes up.  This will not be a lecture!  It will be a friendly sharing of stories and everyone will be welcome to participate.

If you are one of the many people wanting to learn more about vegan lifestyle and maybe thinking of making this step yourself, this is an evening especially for you!  If you are a new vegan the evening will inspire and support you along the way.
