Potluck Meeting with LSR, pedal power cinema and Acousic Soup!

Hello all!

This week is shaping up to be a busy one. Tomorrow night is your chance to get to know the guys from LSR, who have kindly offered to help us set up a café in the co-op. Come by around 7pm with a dish to share, then stick around for the pedal powered matinée of Hollyood Burn! We are aiming to show the film completely off grid using pedal powered electricity generators, so remember to ride your bike! Kindly brought to you by our friends at Magnificent Revolution.

See you at the Co-op!

Coming change to the Co-op Trading hours

As of Monday the 19th of March 2012 we will be changing the opening hours of the Food Co-op.   The new hours will be:

  •  Weekdays (Mon-Fri): 10am-7pm
  • Saturday: 10am-4pm
  • Sunday: closed

The last day of trading on Sunday will by Sunday 18 March.

The management collective has decided to do this for three key reasons:

  • Manager work/life balance: As we get most of our food deliveries on Monday, a manager has to come in on one of their days off. By opening on Monday, the managers, coordinators and volunteers can both take deliveries and run the shop, saving time.
  • Small sales: Sunday are usually our smallest trading day.
  • More intuitive opening hours: Finally, the new shopping hours are more intuitive for customers new and old. On Mondays and Wednesday evenings, there have often been customers coming to the door wanting to shop. The new hours will facilitate this.

We completely recognise that this change may affect some people. We have endeavoured to keep the hours as inclusive as possible – we are still open one day on the weekend, and in the evenings.

These changes will be publicized on the website, Facebook, twitter, and in-store.

If you have any questions or comments please email food.coop.shop@gmail.com or talk to the managers in person.
